RideRecon ("we," "us," "our") operates the RideRecon app and adv-recon.com (the "Service"), a community app for backcountry and adventure motorcycle riders to find route intel, log rides, and share information with other riders. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, who we share it with, and how you can access, correct, or delete it.

Information You Provide

When you create an account and use RideRecon, you may provide:

  • Account info: name, email address, phone number, avatar photo, home state, riding experience level, and motorcycle details (year, make, model, color, plate, VIN).
  • Safety profile (optional): if you choose to fill out a Recon Safety Sheet, this can include blood type, allergies, medications, medical conditions, organ donor status, emergency contacts, health insurance and medevac information, satellite communicator details, and tow-vehicle information. This information is provided entirely at your discretion and is intended to help you (or someone helping you) in an emergency — we do not use it for any other purpose.
  • Content you post: waypoints (campsites, hazards, fuel stops, etc.) with descriptions, GPS coordinates, and photos; trip reports; ride logs; camp-visit ratings and notes; comments; scheduled rides; and trip plans.

Information Collected Automatically

We do not continuously track your location or movement. Location data is only collected when you actively submit a waypoint, route, or GPS coordinate. We use standard technical data (like device/browser type and basic app usage) to keep the Service running and diagnose problems. We do not use advertising or third-party tracking SDKs, and we do not sell your personal information.

How We Use Your Information

  • To operate core features: showing routes and waypoints, building trip plans, scheduling rides, and displaying community content.
  • To let other riders see content you choose to post publicly (waypoints, trip reports, ride logs, ratings, comments).
  • To communicate with you about your account, and, if you don't opt out, occasional updates about RideRecon.
  • To moderate content and enforce our community guidelines.

Who We Share Information With

We share data with the following service providers, only as needed to run the Service, and never for their own advertising purposes:

  • Base44: our application hosting, database, and authentication provider. Base44 stores your account data and content on our behalf.
  • Mapbox: provides the maps and location-search features in the app. Coordinates you view or search are sent to Mapbox to render maps and find nearby services.
  • Google: if you choose "Continue with Google" to sign in, Google handles that authentication.
  • GoHighLevel (GHL): our CRM/email platform. Basic contact and profile information (name, email, phone, bio, bike info) is synced to GHL so we can communicate with you about the app.

We may also disclose information if required by law, or to protect the safety of our riders and the public.

Waypoints, Trip Reports, and Other Community Content

Content you mark public (waypoints, trip reports, ride logs, ratings, comments) is visible to other RideRecon users and, in some cases, to anyone with a shared link (for example, a shared route or trip plan). Please don't include sensitive personal information in public posts.

Your Choices, Access, and Deletion

You can review and edit most of your account information at any time from your Profile. You can permanently delete your account from Profile → Settings → Delete Account. When you do:

  • All personal and medical/safety information tied to your account (contact info, medical details, emergency contacts, vehicle info, etc.) is permanently removed.
  • Community content you contributed (waypoints, trip reports, ride logs, ratings) stays visible to other riders so route information isn't lost, but is no longer linked to your name — it's re-attributed to "Deleted Rider."
  • Purely personal records with no value to other riders (saved waypoints, download history, unshared trip plans) are permanently deleted outright.

Account deletion takes effect immediately and cannot be undone. If you'd like to request a copy of your data, correct inaccurate information, or have a question we haven't answered here, contact us at the email below.

Data Retention

We retain your account and content for as long as your account is active, or as needed to provide the Service. If you delete your account, we remove your personal data as described above; some anonymized content may remain as outlined.

Children's Privacy

RideRecon is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we'll remove it.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy as RideRecon changes. We'll update the "Last updated" date above when we do. Continued use of the Service after a change means you accept the updated policy.
